Wolf Symbolism through the Ages

Wolves are beautiful creatures that have fascinated mankind for eons. They are wild, powerful, intelligent animals seen as symbols of strength, freedom and even wisdom across cultures. Today we’re gonna look at the symbolism connected to wolves as well as some myths about them.

For example, in Native American cultures, the wolf is a symbol of loyalty and courage. Wolves are also often associated with leadership and intelligence. The Ancient Greeks believed that wolves were an embodiment of Apollo’s power over nature. In contemporary culture, wolves continue to be used to represent various aspects of human nature, including our wilder instincts or ambitions. For instance, they may be used to portray ambition or cunningness.
