Thich Nhat Hanh
Body And Mind Are One
Thich Nhat Hanh is a Buddhist monk that has moved millions closer to Zen. Martin Luther King Jr. praised him and called him an "apostle of peace."
In this program, he reveals the essence of his teachings. It is the product of eight decades of meditation, service, and love.
"Mindfulness is the capacity to live deeply in the moments of your entire life. There is freedom from worries, anger and forgetfulness. Forgetfulness is the opposite of mindfulness."
Thich Nhat Hanh
A Peace-Loving Buddha
When Thich Nhat Hanh, or Thay as he's affectionately called by his followers and students, was denied access to his beloved Vietnam in 1975, it would be thirty-nine years before he saw his home again.
Thay has later described this exile in painful terms. When he in 2005 was able to return home, it was a mission of peace and healing that drove him.
He organized meditations with groups as big as 10 000 people, focusing on healing the Vietnam War wounds.
The war was over, but Thay felt the pain had not been healed and that the younger generation would suffer for it. These meditations were a step towards healing those wounds.
Happiness: "The art of happiness is to learn how to be there, fully present, to attend to your needs and to attend to the needs of your loved ones. And if you don't do the first step, it's very difficult to do the second. Stop running and begin to make steps."

His Final Days
Thay suffered declining health and a significant stroke in 2014 that left him unable to speak. In 2018 he moved to Vietnam and expressed a wish to stay at the Từ Hiếu Temple for his final days.
This program was recorded two years before Thay's illness, maybe the best way to access his decades of wisdom, compassion, and love. It includes more than seven hours of Thay speaking on mindfulness, relationships, love, peace, and so much more.
If you have listened to Thay speak before, you'd know he's a soft-spoken man. His teachings are comforting, but he's not a weak man.
He has always insisted that the goal of Buddhism is not to leave the world behind but to bring awareness and love into society.
This program will show you how to do that in the subtle but powerful way only Thay can.
"When there's a break in the rains, Thay comes outside to enjoy visiting the Root Temple's ponds and stupas, in his wheelchair, joined by his disciples.
Many practitioners, lay and monastic, are coming to visit Tu Hieu, and there is a beautiful, light atmosphere of serenity and peace, as the community enjoys practicing together there in Thay's presence."

Heal Your Wounds
A famous surgeon once said that only 1% of people realistically would benefit from corrective surgery. He was talking about war injuries and those who suffered accidents that deformed them.
The rest of us are beautiful he said, but we often don't feel that way.
Have you ever had a scar you wanted to be removed from your body?
This surgeon went on to say that 99% of us have inner scars that we carry emotionally.
These scars can not be healed with scalpels. Presence and mindfulness are how they're healed.
"Body And Mind Are One" with Thich Nhat Hanh includes a whole module dedicated to healing these inner scars.

About the author
I'm Jon Lundal
I wasted a lot of time listening to the wrong spiritual teachers. It's easy to go on social media and dish out fluffy affirmations, but few walk the talk in the real world. When I discovered Thich Nhat Hanh, Buddhism's teachings became a direct and personal experience for me. It can work the same for you.
