Mantras for Lord Shiva

These mantras for Lord Shiva will help you connect with Shiva and attract his blessings. Mantras are one the most powerful and quickest ways to call upon Shiva.

Because I like to share practices I have tried, I will focus on my favorite and most used mantra first. You will find other mantras for Lord Shiva further down, and I encourage you to try them all.

My #1 Choice: Om Namah Shivaya

This mantra is my personal favorite and the mantra I have used for years. It may be the most powerful of all the mantras for Lord Shiva.

Divine Babaji recommended this mantra to all his followers, and since I feel a solid connection to both Shiva and Babaji, I have practiced this faithfully.

Try this mantra while you meditate. Close your eyes and recite it quietly within. You will get even better results from your meditations. You can also use the mantra in combination with Gyan mudra.

Reciting “Om Namah Shivaya” has given me extraordinary meditations, and it could do the same for you.

Additional Shiva Mantras

Om Namo Bhagwate Rudraay

This mantra is used to gain blessings from Shiva. It’s called Rudra Mantra.

Om Tatpurushaay Vidmahe Vidmahe Mahadevaay Deemahi Tanno Rudra Prachodayat

This mantra is used to show devotion to Shiva.

The most straightforward Shiva mantra to remember is Om Namah Shivaya. It’s beautiful and short. If it was good enough for Babaji, it’s good enough for me.

Babaji said that Om Namah Shivaya would protect its devotees from harm. It’s my experience that this mantra works as a conduit towards Shiva consciousness. It can only do a person well and purify their karma.

Leave a comment if you decide to try any of these mantras and have an experience that you’d like to share!
