Kicking Nicotine: 3 Months Without It

On December 25th, 2023, I said goodbye to nicotine, and wow, things have changed for the better! I want to share what’s been happening since I quit. It’s like I’m a new person with more get-up-and-go, no more backaches, and I’m sleeping like a baby.

Energy Like Never Before

Before, I felt tired all the time. Now, I’ve got so much energy; it’s like batteries power me! I don’t crash in the afternoon anymore, and working out doesn’t wipe me out like it used to.

  • Steady Energy: I don’t feel tired out of nowhere anymore.
  • Workouts are Easier: I can exercise more without feeling so tired afterward.

No More Back Pain

I used to have this annoying back pain. I never thought it was because of nicotine, but after I stopped, the pain went away! It turns out nicotine was messing with my blood flow and making it hard for my body to heal itself.

  • Better Blood Flow: My blood can move around more easily, helping my body fix itself up.
  • Less Pain: With less nicotine, there’s less swelling, so my back feels much better.

Science: this is something that has been researched well. Read more about nicotine and back pain.

Sleeping Like a Dream

Nicotine made it hard to sleep well, but I didn’t realize it. After quitting, I’ve been sleeping deeply and waking up feeling great, ready to start the day.

  • Better Sleep: I’m not tossing and turning all night anymore.
  • Wake Up Refreshed: Mornings are great now because I feel rested.

Moving Forward

Quitting nicotine has been awesome for me. I have more energy, no back pain, and sleep better than ever. It shows how much better life can be without nicotine.

Man exercising. He's running in a park. He's smiling because he's nicotine free and feeling great.
Nicotine is horrible for your body. When I started using it, I didn’t notice that too much, but the longer I kept using it, the more it became apparent. You’ll recover faster and have less soreness and joint pains when you quit nicotine, but it may take 2-3 months to see the positive effects, and before that happens, things may even feel worse!

If you’re thinking about quitting, I say go for it. It might not just be about stopping something; it’s about what you gain—more pep, better health, and feeling great.
